It depends on which mode you use. With BYOK, your audio is sent to the AI provider whose key you configured (e.g. OpenAI) — Quendian never sees it. With Quendian Cloud, audio is processed by Quendian's backend. Either way, nothing is stored beyond what's needed to produce your transcript and summary.
macOS classifies system audio capture under the Screen Recording permission — not because Quendian records your screen, but because ScreenCaptureKit (the system audio API) lives in that TCC bucket. Quendian only subscribes to the audio output; it never captures video frames, screenshots, or any visible screen content. You can verify this in the source: search for SCStreamConfiguration and confirm only the audio output type is used. Grant it at System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording, then relaunch Quendian.
