A meeting archive is only useful if you can find the conversation you remember.
Until now, Quendian’s sidebar search matched session titles. That worked when a meeting had an obvious name, but memory rarely works that neatly. You may remember a concern someone raised, a phrase from a decision, or part of an action item without remembering which meeting contained it.
Quendian now searches across completed meeting titles, summaries, and transcripts.
Search for the conversation, not the filename
Press Command-Shift-F or use the search field in the sidebar. Enter a word or phrase, and Quendian searches the full local archive.
Each result shows where the match came from:
- Title when the meeting name matches;
- Summary when the term appears in the generated notes; or
- Transcript when it appears in the conversation itself.
The result includes surrounding context so you can distinguish a passing mention from the moment you need. Transcript results also include speaker and timestamp information when available.
Selecting a result opens the meeting, switches to the appropriate view, scrolls to the matching passage, and briefly highlights it. Search is not a separate destination that leaves you to find the answer again. It is a direct path back to the source.
Built for large archives
Quendian uses localized indexed search on your Mac to keep results fast across thousands of sessions and millions of words. New transcripts and summaries are added automatically.
Search stays on the Mac
Indexing and queries happen locally.
Quendian does not send search terms, transcript passages, or summaries to Quendian Cloud or a configured AI provider in order to return search results. Search is handled inside the app on your Mac.
That distinction matters. Finding something in your own archive should not require uploading the archive to another service.
A foundation for what comes next
Full-text search solves the immediate retrieval problem: find the meeting and passage that contain a remembered idea.
It also creates a foundation for a future feature we are calling Ask Quendian: evidence-backed questions across your meeting notes. The important phrase is evidence-backed. The goal is not a general chatbot that confidently invents an answer. It is a research interface that retrieves relevant meeting passages, answers only from those passages, cites every substantive claim, and says when the archive does not contain enough evidence.
That feature will need more retrieval and grounding work before it is ready. Full-text search comes first because users should always be able to inspect the underlying source themselves.
